Gyles Brandreth Announcing Project Smile Winner

More exciting news for Project Smile!

With the recent success of Project Smile, entries have been plentiful and we do hope you continue to spread the word!

With success comes good news, which we are proud to announce something very special and also tell you all that the poetry and storyboard competition has been extended to the 5th of February!

You can still continue to submit videos and work beyond our competition, but if your students are submitting poems and storyboards, our good news is the winner will be judged by Gyles Brandreth!

Gyles Brandreth is a writer, broadcaster, actor, former MP and Lord Commissioner of the Treasury, now Chancellor of the University of Chester and one of Britain's most sought-after award ceremony hosts and after-dinner speakers. A star of Celebrity Gogglebox, a veteran of QI and Have I Got News For You, a reporter on The One Show and much loved poet, and we are very pleased that he will be judging our winner!

Is your school involved in this positive project? Can your children help us to help others?

We are looking for children to submit either a short video (around 30 secs), a piece of writing, or a drawing about one or more of the following:

• Top tips to stay happy in lockdown

• How to manage worry and anxiety

• Something that has helped them smile or laugh during lockdown

• Top tips to keep motivated to learn at home while schools are closed

We would like to create a collection of positivity that we can use to support children in supporting each other.

Depending on the response we aim to create a digital magazine or website to share the collection with children across the UK.

Please send all submissions or questions to: .

We are hoping to take this national and into the news and spread positivity.
