Meet rainbow drops

1decision Wins an Award!

It has certainly been a strange and unexpected year for all, here at 1decision the team focused on using this time to create something new to share with schools when they returned.

We are so proud of what we have achieved in this difficult time and aside from our fantastic feedback from schools, in the first month back, our Early Years resource has received its first award.

The six nominations from each of the trade categories were assessed by a strong expert panel of early years authors, leaders, consultants, and educators.

This year’s judges included best-selling author Alistair Bryce-Clegg, LEYF CEO June O’Sullivan MBE and manager of ‘outstanding’ preschool Busy Bees Ledbury, Emma Davies and Laura England.

The 1decision Early Years portal was shortlisted in the ‘Healthy and Happy’ category and we are pleased to say we achieved the three-star award. This has been a fantastic achievement for our team and our lockdown project, and we have already begun to produce more content for the portal.

All resources within our Early Years portal have been designed following consultation with early years specialists and school leaders and in response to overwhelming levels of requests from existing 1decision primary school customers for good quality EYFS resources.

As you would expect, the resources have been designed to meet the needs of the Development Matters Framework and cover a number of key areas but, in particular, elements of PSED, and we have also taken young children’s needs for high-quality interactive resources into consideration. The Early Years portal covers many sensitive topics, such as tackling racism, understanding different learning needs, separation anxiety, and much more.

The EYFS area of the 1decision site will continue to grow over time and in direct response to the needs of EYFS and to any government policy changes. All resources in our early years section will include an individual set of instructions. This will ensure that all key workers can use the resource effectively with little planning. Booster pack resources, e.g., the books, may be shared with parents.
Please note these resources contain a parent note section to support home learning.

What do schools think so far?

“We love the 1decision resources at Montgomery Primary School! We have found it an invaluable tool for supporting our children on their return to school after lockdown. The children in EYFS love the Rainbow Drop characters and deciding how to help them out with their dilemmas. The teachers and supporting adults in EYFS love how easy the sessions are to follow and how adaptable they are for whole-class, group, or 1:1 sessions.”
